Since mid December, all my new friendships have been established on a virtual world. Or so Mr R says. Through a convergence of pixels, typed words and taking screen shots together, I have to say I'm rather attached to my guild. Naturally one will always be closer to some than others, but generally it's been great fun. Most are in Singapore, while some are in Malaysia.
This makes it hard for us to actually come together and meet up in what we address as "real life" or rl for short. I can't help but feel a certain sense of pity that we've met on this platform and not on another more tangible one. It's so werid meeting online friends in rl. Even though one has certain expectations, certain images even of how the person could be like, it's never the same. One can't make a judgement on their 'outside' because we know each other 'inside' already.
I'm not sure if I'm making sense.
Happy Chinese Piggy New Year.
