Finally, something interesting in office happened yesterday that appeared as though it could have been taken off the British comedy show, 'The Office'.For some reason, the 'lao ban niang' locked her door and couldn't open it again. Hence, help came in the form of male figures from the warehouse downstairs. First they tried tweaking the door knob. Initially they did it gently, but the testosterone kicked in and the man started being violent. All who were in the office stood round to see, but only for a while, because the lao ban niang told us to go back and do our own thing, for it gave the man alot of pressure.
We moved away a little only, for it was lunch time. No one does anything during lunch time but slack and that's the way it should be. So yes, we continued watching this scene as it was being played out from afar.
They then stacked two tables on top of each other, so that one of the lighter ones could climb to the top to push the ceiling board up. It's the first time that I noticed the ceiling is practically hollow.
One of the boards inside her office was then pryed open. They then hurled a ladder through the hollow ceiling and placed it in her office so that he could climb down and open the door from inside. Which he did in the end.
Ok, perhaps after narrating it, I don't find it as funny any more. The whole office life of mine is rather boring and mundane. The company blocked our internet pages using a firewall. Actually, one person in particular is in charge of doing so, and he therefore also has the will to unblock the pages that he wants to. This annoys me. It's only sometimes when the boss is not in that he totally unblocks everything for a very short while, and it's in those few minutes that I take the opportunity to get back my sanity by going to all the pages that I want to. Hence, at times like these, I can't help but feel like Offred- routines day in, day out. The eye of the boss watching me. The absolute deprivation of enjoyment derived from surfing the net.
I need a Nick in this story.
~Indulgement, leave the commander out.
